Paris – September 21, 2011 – Momac, a leading provider of mobile solutions, today announced the release of the new RTL Radio Contact mobile site and app for iPhone and Android. The radio music app, powered exclusively by Momac’s intelligent mobile platform mvolve, is a combination of hybrid and native technology that takes the mobile music experience to a new level.
Released on both Android and iPhone, the Radio Contact app was the second most popular free music downloaded on iTunes Belgium on the first day of its release. Momac CMO Olivier Milcent attributes the app’s success to innovative design and superior functionality.
“The Radio Contact app is much more than a simple music player, it’s more of a live mobile music community,” says Milcent. “Users have a variety of resources at their fingertips that link them not only to other users but also directly to the radio in real time.”
Sharing features have been deeply integrated to connect with Facebook, Twitter and email. Users are able to immediately contact the show and radio hosts via SMS, label songs under “Favorites,” listen to saved radio programs and videos from earlier in the day, participate in radio contests and more directly from both the mobile site and the app. With just a tap, listeners are joined to iTunes and Android Market where they can purchase the tracks they hear live on Radio Contact.
“The idea behind the radio app is to give users convenient access to the entire range of Radio Contact programming, including live music and video,” says Deputy Director of New Media at RTL Edouard de Witte.
Part of RTL, Radio Contact is the leading commercial radio station in Belgium with more than a million listeners. RTL currently uses Momac’s advanced mobile platform to manage their entire mobile presence, which includes the RTL Belgium mobile site and apps.
Mvolve by Momac is a flexible cloud-based platform designed to give non-technical staff absolute control over their mobile assets. Operators and media enterprises like RTL use mvolve to design and create mobile sites, and heighten the end-user experience through rich user interfaces
