Rotterdam – August 1, 2012 – Momac, a leading providers of mobile operator interface solutions, recently collaborated with the Netherlands largest news organisation NOS on an advanced mobile site exclusively for the 2012 summer Olympic Games that features integrated rich media, including live video and audio streaming. Additionally, the NOS Olympics mobile site offers video coverage of every sport in the Games, medal counts and more.
“The aim of this mobile site was to enable users to conveniently view the events live directly on their mobiles,” explains Momac Netherlands MD Joost Goeree. “We worked closely on the implementation and fine tuning of the mobile site. The streamlined design allows users to quickly navigate anywhere, and the live streams are particularly sophisticated in that they provide video of the entire Games.”
Content, which is categorized by sporting event, is accessible via a menu screen that lists the events with Dutch representation at the top for quick navigation. A ‘Medals’ feature tracks the number of medals won per country. NOS, which handled the project’s overall design and interaction design, launched the mobile site the same day as the 2012 Olympics.
Long time partners, Momac and NOS have worked together since 2009, continually delivering NOS-branded mobile sites, including the Tour de France mobile site that features live news feeds, ranking tables, video and more. Similarly, the NOS 2012 Olympic Games mobile site includes complete sports coverage, including a range of media tools embedded directly in the mobile site.
