Rotterdam – May 20, 2011 – A leader in the development of intelligent mobile solutions for enterprises and operators, Momac recently redesigned from top to bottom the Nederlandse Omroep Stichting (NOS) mobile website (m.NOS.nl), introducing a wider range of audio and video with more site expansion planned for the future. The new mobile portal, constructed entirely by Momac’s cloud-based mobile publishing portal mvolve, provides customers with an enhanced end-user experience thanks to integration with social media platforms, enhanced media substance and a fresh design concept.
After creating the original NOS mobile portal in 2008, Momac worked with the Dutch public broadcaster to develop a wider mobile presence that encompasses the latest mobile technology and delivers a revamped customer experience. According to Joost Goeree, Managing Director of Momac in the Netherlands, the new NOS mobile portal was designed to make the most of the latest smartphone capabilities, unlike the original mobile site, which has become dated since its initial conception.
“Smartphones and the mobile Internet play an increasingly vital role in how consumers access news, and Momac is thrilled to collaborate with the NOS on the enrichment of their mobile strategy,” he says. “Mobile users will now find a more convenient NOS experience that delivers even more news, audio and video, and links with popular social media sites like Facebook and Hyves to enhance sharing options.”
The new Momac-developed mobile news site now features four distinct sections: News, Sports, Skating and Football Live, and will include a number of themed expansions surrounding special events such as the Tour de France, which will contain broadcasts and event videos.
As for news content on the new NOS mobile site, audio and/or video now accompany news articles in many instances and image content has been enlarged. In developing the new mobile site, special attention was paid to ease-of-use. Users now see a clear overview of the applications available for their particular mobile device and can more easily jump between NOS-sharing sites via the navigation bar.
A highly flexible yet extremely powerful mobile publishing platform, the cloud-based platform mvolve renders mobile sites on the fly for more than 6,500 mobile devices, ensuring seamless access for end-users. In addition to partnering with top mobile operators throughout Europe, Momac is a leading provider of mobile solutions for media enterprises.
