06 May 2011 Rotterdam – Following the success of their first collaboration, leading mobile solutions provider Momac and picture book publisher Orange Books have collaborated for a second time to develop “Fonzie in Love” a charming, interactive children’s iPad storybook app released April 30 with recited text in English, German and Dutch.

Available for €3,99 in the Apple App Store, “Fonzie in Love” follows furry protagonist Fonzie the Hare as he ventures out on his own, leaving behind his family and finding love in the woods with Gwendolyn the Squirrel. The 20-page picture book features interactive illustrations that respond to touch, finger swipe page turning and text in three languages. Young readers can listen to the narrated story or practice reading alone.

Last month, the instantly popular Momac-developed storybook app “The Cat that Wouldn’t Moveby Orange Books became the most downloaded free app in the Dutch Apple App Store the week following its debut. According to Managing Director of Momac in the Netherlands Joost Goeree, the quality of both of the story apps sets them apart in terms of user enjoyment.

“Like the first storybook Momac developed with Orange Books, “Fonzie in Love” contains inventive elements that enhance the reader experience,” he says. “Perfectly synchronised animation, sound, text and touchable illustrations make this picture book app truly distinct.”

“Fonzie in Love” was written by Peter Brouwers and illustrated by Marijke ten Cate and is the second of four children’s storybook apps being developed and built exclusively by Momac for Orange Books, a publisher of picture books for the iPad and other tablets.

A long-time expert in the creation of innovative mobile portals for telecom operators and enterprises, Momac is also a leading developer of native and hybrid apps for virtually all mobile devices from the latest feature phones to tablets to the latest smartphones.
