Carbios to build in france its first-of-a-kind manufacturing plant for fully bio-recycled PET

Carbios is a good example of Truffle Capital's expertise in creating innovative companies in the French ecosystem

Carbios (Euronext Growth Paris: ALCRB), created and supported by Truffle Capital 10 years ago, has developed a revolutionary enzyme capable of converting PET into an infinitely recyclable material.

Following the success of its industrial demonstrator in Clermont-Ferrand (France) inaugurated in September 2021, Carbios is now taking a key step towards industrialization and commercialization. The plant, with a capacity to process 50,000 metric tons of PET waste per year, will be built at Indorama Venture's production site in France and is expected to be operational by 2025.

For Carbios' historical partners and shareholders (L'Oréal, Michelin, L'Occitane, Nestlé Waters, PepsiCo, Suntory Beverage & Food Europe), the building of the plant responds to the growing need for more sustainable packaging. In addition, the French government intends to substantially finance this strategic project.

Carbios is a good example of Truffle Capital's expertise in creating innovative companies in the French ecosystem. This is also the objective of Truffle Capital's new MEDEOR fund, which aims to invest 30 to 40% in BioEcoTech companies (BioTechs that aim to save the planet) in advanced stages of development.
