Bernard-Louis Roques, Co-founder and PDG of Truffle Capital

Truffle Capital and Finance Innovation, in partnership with Groupe BPCE, Sopra Banking Software and Sopra Steria, unveil the results of the second Fintech100 ranking conducted by Spocking Polls. It reveals the last innovation and development trends in the sector.

Fintech100 ranking was designed in 2021 and is intended to be an annual event.

The second edition of the Palmarès Fintech 100 demonstrates the resilience of the French fintech and insurance ecosystem. After two particularly euphoric years, fundraising in the sector has dropped by 63% to €1.2 billion in 2022. However, the sector is showing a 69% growth in activity in 2022 and a 37% increase in recruitments. In a context of uncertainty, accompanied by a credit crunch and reduced access to liquidity, the sector's results demonstrate solid fundamentals and confirmed attractiveness.

Bernard-Louis Roques, Co-founder and Managing Director of Truffle Capital, said: "After a wave of fundraising in recent years, fintechs have managed to turn the tide. The result is hypergrowth +70% by 2022. But this growth will require significant recruitment of tech profiles, which remains a major challenge. To help startups meet these challenges, Truffle Capital, via the Fintech100, is helping to improve their knowledge of their ecosystem.

For his part, Maximilien Nayaradou, CEO of Finance-Innovation adds: "Since 2015, fundraising has multiplied to reach, despite a drop in 2022, a cumulative total of nearly 6.2 billion at the end of last year. We are entering a new period of sustained revenue growth for fintechs, driven in part by the appetite of major banking and insurance groups."
